     WORLAND -- Charles N. "Rube" Hillhouse, 46, died Thursday, Aug. 21 at Deaconess Hospital in Billings, Mont.
     He was born May 31, 1951 in Worland, the son of Charles N. "Chick" and Phyllis J. (Prevo) Hillhouse, Sr.  He married  Phyllis Walker in Worland in 1970.  They were later divorced.
     He was raised in Worland and graduated from Worland High School in 1969.  He then went to work for the City of Worland, eventually becoming the Chief Water Plant Operator.  Ill health forced him to retire in 1981.
     He enjoyed fishing, taking car rides to the mountains and into the badlands, visiting with friends, and playing his saxaphone.  He was a member of the Sons of The American Legion.
     He is survived by his mother and step-father, Phyllis and John Strong of Hyattville; and step-mother Audrey Hillhouse, of Casper; a son, Abe Harper and wife Tonia, of Hobbs, N.M.; daughter-in-law Stephanie Harper of Sheridan; grandchildren Amanda Harper of Sheridan; and Tiffany and Andrew Harper of Hobbs, N.M.; one brother, Richard A. Hillhouse, of Cottonwood, Ariz.
     He was preceded in death by his son Matt Harper in June 1996; his father in 1991; and his brother, Randy Hillhouse in 1990.
     Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 25 at the Veile Mortuary Chapel.  Burial will be in Ten Sleep Cemetery at 12:45 p.m. Monday.
